    Product Introduction:
NHS magnetic beads are superparamagnetic particles that are coated with N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) functional groups. These beads are commonly used in bioconjugation and affinity purification applications in molecular biology and biochemistry. The NHS functional group allows for easy and efficient covalent coupling of molecules such as antibodies, proteins, or peptides to the surface of the beads. The magnetic core enables easy manipulation and separation of the beads using a magnetic field, making them ideal for automation and high-throughput applications.

    Our Products

The NHS magnetic beads provided by Alfa Chemistry are magnetic beads with high density NHS groups on the surface. They can form stable amide bonds with proteins or other molecules containing primary amine groups and are widely used for affinity purification of antibodies, antigens and other biomolecules. Compared to traditional carboxyl or amino magnetic beads, our NHS magnetic beads do not require pre-activation with EDC/NHS or glutaraldehyde and can directly couple with biological ligands. Therefore, they have the advantages of simple operation, high efficiency and fast coupling.

    Advantages

    • Simple: Magnetic beads can be directly covalently coupled with biological ligands without activation.
    • Mild: Coupling conditions are mild, and can be done at room temperature or 4°C, with a pH of 5-9.
    • Fast: Biological ligand coupling can be completed in 1-2 hours.
    • Efficient: Biological ligand coupling efficiency can exceed 90%, which is significantly higher than that of carboxyl magnetic beads.
    • Stable: Stable amide bonds can be formed to prevent ligands from falling off.

    You Need to Know

    • Do not freeze or dry the magnetic beads. These operations can cause the beads to aggregate and lose binding activity.
    • The presence of primary amine groups in the buffer will inhibit the coupling of proteins to the surface of the magnetic beads. Therefore, ensure that the buffer does not contain substances with primary amine groups.
    • The coupling efficiency of proteins to magnetic beads varies depending on the type and nature of the protein. Generally, a protein concentration of ≥3.0 mg/mL is favorable for protein coupling. However, the concentration needs to be optimized for different proteins.
