Ti2CTx, a member of the MXene family, is a two-dimensional titanium carbide material. It is synthesized by selectively etching the A-element (usually aluminum) from its parent MAX phase, Ti2AlC, in a fluoride-containing acid or lithium fluoride/hydrochloric acid (LiF/HCl) system. This material exhibits excellent electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and hydrophilicity, making it highly suitable for a range of applications including energy storage devices like supercapacitors and batteries, catalysis, and as conductive filler in composites.
