Multilayer and monolayer Nb4C3Tx, a member of the MXene family, are advanced two-dimensional materials. These materials feature a layered structure with Nb4C3 at their core and surface terminations (Tx), such as hydroxyl, oxygen, or fluorine, that result from chemical etching processes. The multilayer variant consists of stacked Nb4C3 sheets, while the monolayer (few-layer) form consists of flakes with ≤5 layers. Both forms exhibit exceptional properties. These attributes make Nb4C3Tx materials highly valuable for applications in energy storage, catalysis, electromagnetic shielding, and sensing technologies.
