Oil-soluble InP/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) are nanoscale semiconductor particles with a core-shell structure, consisting of an indium phosphide (InP) core surrounded by a shell of zinc sulfide (ZnS). The presence of the ZnS shell enhances the stability of the QDs as well as improves their optical properties. The term "oil-soluble" indicates that these QDs are synthesized in an organic phase solution. This enhances the compatibility of InP/ZnS QDs with non-polar environments, enabling them to be widely used in flexible displays, bioimaging, and sensing.
