    Product Introduction:
Strep-Tactin is a genetically engineered variant of streptavidin that can be used for surface coating. Strep-tag II is an 8-residue minimal peptide sequence (Trp-Ser-His-Pro-Gln-Phe-Glu-Lys) with intrinsic affinity for streptavidin. Research has found that Strep-tag II can bind with high selectivity to Strep-Tactin.

Strep-Tactin magnetic beads are commonly used in protein purification applications. They can effectively isolate and purify Strep-tag II proteins from a complex biological mixture.

    Our Products

Alfa Chemistry utilizes a special protein conjugation process to covalently couple Strep-Tactin to the surface of superparamagnetic magnetic beads, creating a new type of magnetic bead capable of efficiently and rapidly separating and purifying Strep-tag II proteins. Our Strep-Tactin magnetic beads can be used to isolate and purify functional Strep-tag II proteins from any expression system, including baculovirus, yeast, mammalian cells and bacteria.

    Optimization of Protein Purification Process

Methods to improve the recovery of target proteins:
    (a) Extend the incubation time of the protein solution with the magnetic beads.
    (b) Include appropriate protease inhibitors to prevent degradation of the target protein.
    (c) Increase the amount of magnetic beads used.
    (d) Extend the elution time of the target protein or increase the number of elutions.

Methods to improve the purity of the target protein:
    (a) Include appropriate protease inhibitors during purification to prevent degradation of the target protein.
    (b) Extend the washing time and increase the number of washes.

    You Need to Know

    • Do not freeze, dry, or d high-speed centrifuge our products.
    • Before using our products, make sure to thoroughly oscillate to maintain a uniform suspension of the beads.
    • It is recommended to use high-quality pipette tips and reaction tubes to prevent the magnetic beads from sticking to the walls or leakage during the mixing process, which can cause loss of magnetic beads.
    • When the used magnetic beads are reused, it is recommended to purify the same kind of proteins. When purifying different proteins, it is recommended to use new magnetic beads to avoid cross-contamination.
    • Our products need to be used with magnetic separation equipment.
